Industry Consulting Projects

A key part of the MMB program curriculum is the completion of consulting practicum projects. Each semester, MMB students work in teams to complete a practicum project for a client. These projects have real-world implications and generate valuable insight to partnered companies and professionals.

Textile-Based Enzymes Powering Carbon and Nitrogen Conversion

Fall 2024

Mentored by Dr. Sonja Salmon and Youngwoo Huang, my team surveyed the academic and commercial field of bioelectrocatalysis to identify possible academic and industrial partnerships, summarize their core competencies in this field, assess the state of their technology development, and summarize their funding sources. Additionally, we created a contact database for the client to use in potential future follow-up.

Direct Air Capture System Filter Reformation

Under the mentorship of Ed Cully, our team explored alternative manufacturing scenarios for direct air capture (DAC) system filters, a product that will launch Gore into the carbon capture technology market. â€‹

AI Tool for Novel Insecticidal Protein Discovery

Kitari Bio
Spring 2025

Under the mentorship of Genichi Kakefuda and Ragu Bharadwaj, my team segmented the pesticide market to explore which areas of the market Kitari Bio's AI algorithms for novel insecticidal proteins would be of the most use to. We also performed KOL/VOC outreach to gauge interest in this product.
